Cakes, Brownies, Bar and Cookie Recipes
Welcome to World of Easy Recipes. This site has 1000s of simple recipes using everyday ingredients.  Most of the recipes have been collected for many years from friends and my co-workers.  For many years I have always been interested in collecting recipes and recipe books.  The recipes listed in this site are the best of the best of my collection.

APPLESAUCE SQUARES
1- 1/3 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c . sugar
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sweetened applesauce
1 egg
1/2 tsp. chopped raisins
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, and spices into a large bowl. Add shortening and applesauce. Mix to dampen flour, then beat 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and beat one minute with electric mixer. Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan lined with wax paper. Bake. Let stand about 10 minutes. When done, then remove from pan and cool.

LEMON SQUARES

CRUST
2 sticks margarine
2 c. flour
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix flour and powdered sugar. Pat down to make crust. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. 4 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. lemon juice
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat together and pour over hot crust and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Sift powdered sugar over top. Let cool. Cut in small squares.
